The body board

A friend wanted a body board for his wife's birthday. The blank was glued up from some EPS I had and added the 5mm around the sides. Here I have added a piece of fibreglass fly wire mesh to add some strength under the 3mm top skin. It will cradle the timber if it takes a hit. I have found it adds a lot of strenght with little added weight. It is light strong and not expensive.

Top and bottom on and in the bag for 2 hours as the glue cures

Once out of the bag and cleaned up the edges, it is time to add the nose and tail blocks.

5mm rail bands are added

All shaped and sanded up with the logo stamped on ready for a couple of coats of varnish.
All finished and Jackie wiped up a great little board cover as well.
